A Thousand Splendid Suns

I have read this book which was given by my best friend (Ajil) and ex-collage friend (Noorjan). Yes, they have the same taste I guess and that’s why I got 2 same books on my birthday (Kite Runner this year?)

I seldom read this kind of book which most of the time I will be reading a science-fiction ones. So, it’s cool to give a try on it.

When I just read few pages, I found the book not so interesting which it slowed me down. You won’t believe that I finish another book in the toilet because most of the time when I was not on the toilet will be occupied with completing my assignments. Yes, some of my friends claimed that it was just an excuse for me not joining them hang out at café or restaurant but seriously mate, the assignments really killing me and until today, I still got 2 assignments that needed my attention.

The story is about Afghan people; their culture, belief and life. The author knows how to blend them together and makes it interesting to read.

I do not think it’s cool to write the whole story in here but I’d suggest you to get a copy and finish it. Pay attention on Mariam and Laila the most.

Seriously, I do not like the ending for Mariam.

the amber spyglass

The Amber Spyglass

ah yeah.

at least i’ve finished reading this book which i bought it in year… er, 2007? haha i don’t know why it took me so long to finish this book when i could finish another 2 books from its series in a blink? maybe i don’t like the storyline of this last book.

i’d say that the best is still the 1st book which is golden compass followed by subtle knife. this 3rd book is a bit boring with too much of the deaths stories and maybe, less of iorek? ops! sorry. you’d understand this if you read the book.

overall, these 3 books are good. you should get them all and let me know your opinion. alright? :)

note: don’t you think golden compass and subtle knife are way too good compared to boring spyglass? sigh.

Recolor May 13

image

When you see this title, what is in your mind?

Yes. For Malaysian, it is a tragic date. Still remember May 13, 1969?

I don’t intend to remind you about that history, also not my intention to ask whose fault or why it happened. What had happen, had happen. We don’t want it to happen again.

Today, I got an email from Anas Zubedy. I guess many of you already knew him. A famous blogger who writes and makes campaign for Malaysian’s unity.

Here is the email:

Dear Brother and Sister Malaysians,

I would like to re-color May 13th, to breathe new spirit into the date, to dilute and eventually erase the negative thoughts and replace them with positive meanings and values. We are placing a full page advertisement in The Star this May 13th , with a call to re-color the day.

When reflecting on May 13th 1969, we can blame others for what happened, blame the situation, or we can choose to transform things for the better, to be change agents and constructively fill our hearts and minds with what needs to be done so May 13th does not ever happen again, and that no one uses the day to bring about fear and negativity.

What thoughts can we cultivate to make a difference to how May 13th is viewed? What actions can we take to shine a light on this day so it will forever be a day we learn from mistakes, a day we strengthen unity in our diversity and recommit to respecting one another and working together?

At zubedy we believe in re-coloring May 13th with all our brilliant hues, the many diverse peoples that we are, under this one great nation called Malaysia. We believe it is a day to reaffirm our shared values and traditions and rejoice in what unites us. A day for young and old to constructively talk about what makes us one people and how we can remain strong together.

This May 13th we are launching two books available at MPH, Borders, Kinokuniya and newsstands to commemorate the day.

  1. A Plea for Empathy, A Quest for Malaysian Unity by Chandra Muzaffar, is a collection of twenty-three articles on Malaysian national unity that appeared in newspapers, magazines and academic journals between 1974 and 2008.  Dr. Chandra looks at language, culture, religion, the economy, politics, human rights, education, ethnic accommodation, ethnic conflict and trends in ethnic relations over the decades. The writing embodies the essence of his thoughts on the causes of disunity and the solutions that are possible. ( Retail price at RM 39.20 WM)

  1. The Quran and I by Anas Zubedy is a collection of reflections and childhood memoirs featuring among others, inter-faith and inter-racial friendships and depictions of how the multi-cultural Malaysian setting is fertile ground for personal growth. The book highlights universal values found in the Quran through daily life experiences and serves as a simple introduction to the Quran. (Retail price RM 36.40 WM)

Please join us and make May 13th a day of Unity. Find ways to understand each other better, bring to light our Unity in diversity and share your stories with children and young people. Organize gatherings and discussions, Unity parties and kenduris.  Or simply take a moment and reflect on where we are today and give thanks; we have much to be grateful for.

Peace and Let us add value,

anas zubedy

So, what are you waiting for? :) Let’s show our support by buying these books and share our opinion through blogging.

Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland & Through The Looking-Glass

image

Still remember I put Alice in Wonderland trailer from Youtube months ago?

Alright, I got an advance birthday present from Emelda aka Insomniac; which is this book.

I always think Alice in Wonderland is just a piece of fiction or fantasy, a light one of course, and only suit kids. But I was wrong. This book gave me a different perspective about Alice in Wonderland.

This book has 2 stories.

First one, is the one that we always know, since we were little. About Alice, who fell into a well and the fantasy started from there. She could speak with animals and even listen to their poem. Lovely ones. Lewis Carroll has made it real, no other book could produce a great book like this. It makes even adult feels like they are in the Alice’s world.

Second one, I never heard before. Through The Looking-Glass. Now, I know that this is the second story of Alice. About chess. Which ended, she became the queen. In the adventure, she met all chess characters. In the end, Alice realized that all the characters in her dream were related with the peoples around her, in reality. But then, there was a question running in her head. Who is the Red King in her dream? Which I don’t know too. I think the king is her dog?

For those who haven’t read the book, please get yourself a copy. Remember, the movie will be showing this March! Be fast ok?

Note: At this time, my eyes are so heavy. So sleepy. I write this while transferring all pictures that had been taken earlier. Stay tune :)

Breaking Dawn

image

Oh yeah!

This is the ending. I mean, official ending even though Midnight Sun has been spread around. I haven’t read that piece. A chapter.

I heard, because of the leaking, she chose not to continue.

Meyer, be reasonable. You know how many copies of your books have been sold. So, don’t make it complicated honey. Just do it! (Alright, now I make it sounds like a Nike ads).

This 756 pages, thick, book has 3 chapters in it. Divided into 3 which are stories about Bella, Jacob and back to Bella. If you read Eclipse, you’ll understand that these two books aren’t like the first and second book which focus on Bella only.

Nephew called me snail. For taking ages, to finish this book.

Who cares? Look, how many people at my age, read thick book like this? Now, I’m proud of myself.

The story began with Bella marriage from Eclipse, and their honeymoon at an island named Isle of Esme. A wedding gift from Carlisle to Esme. There, a lot of thing happen. Like, Edward unintentionally gave bruises on Bella. But he was pretty strong that nothing worse than that happen to his lovely wife. Bella appetite increased day by day, and they notice after few days it went on that way. This part was boring. Seriously. Until they realized that Bella was pregnant! I was quite shock with few facts like, is it possible a vampire can get erect since he has no blood? That was what I think when reading and watching Twilight and New Moon. But in this book, I know why he always resist. Also, how could Bella carried a vampire’s child? After all, it’s fiction aye?

Second chapter, it was about Jacob. Who was still running away from the fact that Bella is going to be a bloodsucker soon. Or sooner than he expected. He was still wish that he would kill Edward at the wedding. Then, he returned home. There was a gathering between the pack. A meeting, to be exact. Jacob had been informed by the pack that Bella was very ill, and nothing else in his mind was Bella’s blood was suck off, too much. He was mad, and plan to kill the Cullen as soon as possible. His decision was declined by the pack, a decision from the Alpha – Sam. He wasn’t listen and still go straight to Cullen’s mansion to kill them all, at least kills Edward. When he reached there, he was shock that Bella was still alive, and fighting to survive. Not because of her, but because of the baby. Weird baby. The baby was killing her from inside, as the baby was half human and half vampire, she (Oh! ya it was a female weird hybrid). She drank blood! Jacob cancelled the plan and instead of thinking about killing them, he turned to be helpful. Then, he went back to tell the pack about what exactly happen. It was not a good news of course. But for Sam, it was a worst news ever. He decided to kill the child. Even though they have to go through Bella and the Cullen. It didn’t matter. Jacob, was against them again this time. On Bella’s side, of course. There, they started to argue. Jacob claimed his right as an Alpha which actually suppose to be his position, a leader, an Alpha. Sam didn’t want that, which lead to a decision, abandoned the pack. Not Sam, but Jacob. Jacob went straight to the Cullen’s mansion but not long, Seth and Leah joined him. The story went on until Bella gave birth. Bella almost die, when she delivered the baby which forced Edward to use the last resort, gave her his venom. I like this part as shape-shifter (hey, the pack are not werewolf but shape-shifter like some other places they might turn into a hawk or tiger, as werewolf can infect others like vampire and they turn into one on full moon), Jacob’s pack were close with the Cullen.

Back to Bella, she still in pain. Burned with venom that had been injected to her heart by Edward. After hours, she managed to open her eyes, and realized that she was already one of them. She got great skills like to avoid human blood smell, even though it was impossible for newborn vampire. Never happen before. Then, instead of that she was also a shield to all mind skills, including his lovely husband’s skill. The skill she got since she was a human. The baby, was named Renesmee. Jacob changed it to Nessie, which the baby liked it, together with the whole family. Bella was mad at first, but then more mad when she realized Nessie was imprinted for Jacob! Edward took Bella out for hunting. She started to adopt vampire ability, but she learned them fast. Not long from the heart thumping moment, Jacob made a surprise. He told Charlie that Bella was fine and can be visited. Another surprise was, Jacob phase in front of Charlie! Bella was mad and attacked Jacob but he was fast and accidentally bumped at Seth. He got some cracks and disjoints. Charlie visited Bella at the Cullen’s mansion. He was still in shock with Jacob confession. Few weeks after that, Bella, Jacob and Nessie were out in the jungle, hunting some animals. Bella was shock to see Irina, part of Cullen’s family lead by Tanya who live in Denali. She was still mad at Bella with the Laurent’s death. Then she just disappeared. Everybody was so shock when Alice told them that the Volturi will come for them, for Renesmee.

Oh, to know the ending, you must read this book. I don’t want to be a total brat, spoil everything or even spoon feeding lazy ass like er, you?

It’s a worth buy and time to spend. Seriously.

P/s: Nadia, I think I’m going to be like you confuse about how is Eclipse’s ending when we watch the movie June this year. It happen to you with New Moon, which gave me a great laugh.

Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment

200px-Maximum_Ride1

I have finished reading Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment. I’m still under training for speed reading. I guess I’m doing good now, finish two books in two weeks. You know how thick Meyer’s book can be, right?

Wikipedia is such a great spoiler. When I visited there just to grab picture for the book’s cover, I was astonished that the whole detail about Maximum Ride sequence was there.

Thank you to the book fair in Bayan Baru. I found this book there. I was startled once I saw this book as I remember Max J. Potter is a big fan.

Well, Max, I didn’t know Maximum Ride got sequence! Ah, buying hard cover book at its original price is going to make me broke.

It’s the first book from James Patterson. Different approach and it gives you great heart thumping moment from the beginning until the epilogue.

This book is about a girl name Max who is 14 and lives with the same species Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel. They are special breed. Most of their body parts are human, exactly like us. Just that… er, they have wings.

Max is very protective. Overprotective sometimes. As a leader and eldest in the family she needs to be brave and smart. Spontaneous too.

I’d prefer Fang who is a bit devilish and different from others, black wings. Same like Max, he is very sarcastic. The best thing about him is he’s cool and not talkative most of the time. Sounds like a hero eh?

Each of them has different ability. The unique one would be Angel who can read mind (she reminds me of Edward Cullen, sorry to Twilight haters).

I know that Patterson is a good murder-investigation writer, but it’s hard to believe that he could write something blasphemy like this.

They are sad to know that they are abnormal and they have biological parent. Well, who doesn’t?

The rest of the journey I won’t tell here as I don’t want to be like Wikipedia, spoiler to the book, worse the whole sequence.

What I can tell you my friends, this book is a worth to buy and read. Lucky I still have 17 books to go (exclude Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) and exam is just around the corner.

You won’t believe me that I finished all the books in the toilet!

New Moon, I’m ready!

Newmooncover

Oh Meyer! I’m joining the pack!

Twilight was a bit boring but New Moon was hot. At first when I read New Moon, I was going to think it is just another boring Twilight but I was totally wrong. But when I’ve finished reading it, I became anxious and excited about what is going to happen next.

Twilight was basically about which one were the vampires, the vampire’s diet, why Cullens were not dangerous compared to others, detail about Cullens’ history and the attack of bad vampires on Bella.

New Moon was much better than that. It was more about the treaty between werewolf and vampire. More about Jacob Black rather than Edward Cullen. Bella got crazier than before with gut to do everything that could distract her from thinking about Edward. She did things like jumped off the cliff, rode big bike and even went into the deep forest.

I like the part she met Laurent and met with the werewolf for the first time. How I wish to see those things with my own eyes! I knew it was such a fantasy to read and imagined, but reading this made my brain creative.

I won’t write about the book in detail because it will spill out the suspense before you watch the movie, to those who won’t read the book or prefer to watch rather than smell the nice-odd-smell of the book.

Jacob said he could kill vampire. Edward said he could kill werewolf. It’s making me nervous. Based on Van Helsing, werewolf was way too sturdy.

I’m ready to watch the movie now! I’m as anxious as before, like read Potter, Golden Compass, Lord of The Ring then watch the movie. What else could be cooler than this?

Twilight

071020094155 111020094161 I’ve read and watched Twilight last week. I felt so good watching the movie after reading the book. I always get 100% satisfaction even though movie usually won’t turn out to be as good as I expected.

I took so long to finish Twilight as I was busy with assignments, quizzes, love life, badminton and work. Yes I know I always apply if there is a will, there is a way in my daily life but sometimes it’s just hard to squeeze the time to fulfill our interest.

Now, I’m reading New Moon and can’t wait to watch the movie in cinema!

This book is about abduction that happened to Megumi Yokota a 13 years old girl who lived in Japan. The North Korean kidnapped her in 1977.

It’s a heartbreaking story to read about how her parent cope with it and fight for justice.

inspired to change

book1

The parable of the eaglet who got mixed up with a brood of chicks brought up by a mother hen is not fiction. Becoming a flying predator of the falcon-family capable of conquering the skies is not meant to be for the eaglet who accidentally mixes with the ‘wrong’ company. The eaglet is never thought to fly and thus continues pecking on the ground all its life thinking that it was a chicken.

This is the best quote in the book for me. Thank you to Joseph for lending this book to me as he knows I love property investment a lot.

This book is very good to encourage you to take calculated risk in property investment and roughly how to be success in this business.

In term of strategy and knowledge in theory I prefer Azizi Ali’s book. You can seek for books by Azizi Ali that I’ve read here.

Nothing much to share about property investment for this post as most of the methods and important points have been written in my earlier post.

Good book to keep your spirit high.

Note: Currently reading Twilight.

Miles Calvery is the black sheep of his family- enormously rich from a long sojourn in India, disconcertingly blunt and brash. But he turns out to be Abbie's most important ally in keeping her niece out of trouble.

But how can he possibly be considered eligible when she has worked so hard to rebuff his own nephew's suit for her niece? And how can she possibly detach from an ailing sister who needs her? This is a heroine who has to be, literally, swept off her feet.

eating comedian

Don’t ask me about the post for last week vacation. I don’t have much time to write about it yet.

Today I felt very sleepy maybe because I slept at 2am. When I play badminton, I’d forget about time. Forget about it at all. It makes me feel relief. It makes me feel happy. It makes me release my stress and great satisfaction. I play twice or maybe 3 times a week. Good for my health, good for my shape.

Nothing much for tonight, I was writing about the vacation then Nad buzzed me in YM. Talked about work and more likely screaming out my unsatisfied heart towards my office, the environment. Sucks. Big time! (Keyword: Sucks)

Then she went to bed and I went to toilet. It was 12 o'clock. As usual I took a book with me. To accompany me.

I just want to share a joke with you.

Two cannibals were eating a comedian, and one of them turns to the other and asks, “Does this taste funny to you?”

email from author carlo gabbi

Hi Carlo Gabbi,

This is amazing that a noble author like you would write me an email. Honestly, I’m flattered.

I understand your intention for good morale value in the 2nd part of the book but I still think it turns off the romance which was beautifully written at the beginning. I was hoping that it will goes on that way till the end and of course I’d expect they will have a great wedding ceremony.

I hope we can keep in touch and let me know if you write again. I’ll definitely buy the book as I really like your way of writing.

Keep in touch and hopefully someday you can write about my country too.

Best regards,

Faisal Admar

Subject: To say thank you

Hi Faisal,

I'm Carlo Gabbi the author of An Amazing Story. I just read your review on my book and thank you for what you said,

Most likely you haven't completely understood the reason why I centered the second part of the novel in the Amazonian forests. It is the concern that humanity for greediness are destroying life on universe and already we are paying dearly the consequences Don’t you think so? And I suppose everybody at the end is expecting that Tomas and Dolores are finally getting married. I believe isn't any more picturesque place then the Amazon place and their traditional folkloristic rules.

I notice that many of your readers would like to read the book. They can directly order the book from me at a special price of $A 15.00 plus postal cost.

Please stay in touch. I like to know more of your country and your traditions.

Sincerely

Carlo Gabbi

An Amazing Story

To those who have followed my blog either bloggers or silent readers surely knew that I won a book give away contest last year (click here and here). I got the book a week after I got A Mighty Heart by Mariane Pearl (click here). So, while finishing that book my colleague wanted to read this An Amazing Story by Carlo Gabbi after reading it’s synopsis behind the book. I agreed and lend her the book for a week. I managed to finish A Mighty Heart in a week or so and continue reading this book. To me I like the beginning of the story and the climax is in the middle of the story. I don’t really quite like the ending as it is a simple happy ending while the jungle part is quite boring.

The beginning of the story is awesome with Dolores struggling in her life at the age of 14 or so living with her mom and step father who is a sex maniac. Instead of having kinky sex with his wife, he is also a pedophile. He took Dolores for a bath everyday and end up he asked Dolores to satisfy his sex desire by making him shoot his load without sexual intercourse until one night he raped Dolores by an incident.

Dolores ran away to Australia with her dancing team. After a while she found out through a friend that the manager had manipulated them for his own benefit. So she quitted and she wanted to go back to Brazil where she belongs but she has no money left. Last resort, she accept the job to be a prostitute. Dolores knew with her beauty she could attract any man easily. Yes she was right and she became a hit within a month. The purpose still the same, she wanted to go back to Brazil and start a new life.

When the time was getting near, she tried to explore Australia more, relaxed near the sea and enjoyed the wonderful scenery. There he met Thomas and the love started from there. Dolores had low self esteem as she knew she was just a prostitute and not like any other woman who has good job and better life than her. But Thomas insisted to know her better.

When the time comes, she went back to Brazil but at the same time missed Thomas a lot. She started her new life successfully.

Thomas couldn’t live without her and seek for her in Brazil with a great plan. The plan was exploring the Amazon forest. From there the love became deeper.

It is not fair if I tell you the whole story including the ending but I must say that Carlo Gabbi is a making-love best writer. The best part I like about him is the way he describes the love making beautifully.

Thanks Jossette for this great gift.

How to become a MILLIONAIRE LANDLORD

Finished reading this book 2 days ago (guess what? I've finished reading this one in the toilet again!).

First question, why should you involve with property? Is there any better investment that can give you these criteria:
  1. give a decent return (above inflation rate)
  2. requires minimal work on my part
  3. requires minimal time
  4. finance by other people's money
  5. within my control
  6. has acceptable risk
  7. gives tax reliefs
  8. gives peace of mind
Great isn't it? If you can suggest other investment that similar like this I'd greatly appreciate.

Yes, I hear you. Some mates asking me about what kind of house is the best for investment? I'd say medium cost flat or apartment (low cost is great deal but often has problem with maintenance and they are hard to sell because of the agreement stuff). Why not semi-d or terrace? I won't say you cannot buy those house, but for investment (rental) the best is you get yourself an apartment or medium cost flat (Azizi says condominium and apartment... but I know that many of you can't afford to buy one with the average salary between RM1,000 to RM3,000 and other debts around and I know the condominium price in big cities like KL, JB and Penang are simply impossible) because we are talking about the best way to rent.

If you have to move to somewhere let say Penang for work purpose, will you rent a terrace house or apartment? Based on the rental price you will definitely rent an apartment. If you do that, do you think others will do otherwise? Plus, with busy schedule working from 8am to 5pm everyday they surely have no time to go some other place for sweating themselves. So, apartment has always provide some facilities like pool and gym. Not to mention tennis and basketball court. What's better than this?

You must always make sure your rental give you a positive cash flow. That means, you are not paying for your property but the tenant does. Let say you pay bank RM500 monthly for the housing loan and your tenant pay you RM600, this is a positive cash flow. Ok I hear you saying what about the maintenence fee? Nowadays the maintenence fee is 10cents per square feet. That means if let say your apartment is 900 sq/ft then it will be RM90. Still you get RM10 for the positive cash flow. Better than negative right?

Now, when we are talking about positive cash flow what criteria do you need to look at before buying a house? The answer is simple. LOCATION. Most people buy the wrong location and then whining why it is hard for them to get tenant and worse they get negative cash flow every month. Example of good locations are near to school and office, shopping malls just nearby, in town, near to hospital and near to public transport such as bus and train station. These are good example to be considered before you buying it. Again I'd suggest KL, JB and Penang are the 3 best cities for you to buy (bear in mind, do not buy properties that are too far from you as it is easier for you to look after it). Do not buy properties in Sungai Petani as example as the price is very slow to go up and the rental is so cheap. But if you are looking for a house to live, then go for it. Cheap and spacious. Many of my colleagues complaining that the rental is way too cheap and they simply can't make money out of it!

Another good thing is buy the property below market value. You can get good deal at the auction! I haven't tried this one but my friend did and Azizi would suggest us to buy through auction too. Before you go into auction, you must check on the house you are interested about the market value. If the house value is RM150,000 and you buy it at auction with RM160,000 then you have lost RM10,000 in a blink. Usually peoples in the auction will have some groups that will keep rocket up the price and please don't be fooled by them. Get your fact right. Get some info and books before you jump into auction ok?

Financing your property. Most peoples hate debt. I know, I'm having the same problem. To me, if you don't afford to buy thing cash, meaning you are not afford to buy it at all. But it is not the same with property. It is fine if you buy house for living but if it is for investment then it is other way round. I you rent the property you can claim interest portion of the mortgage as tax deduction. This is a significant deduction as the interest of the mortgage is extremly high during the early year (as much as 90% of the payment). For example, if the mortgage is RM1,000 a month some RM900 of it will go for settling the interest portion only! This mean that you can deduct RM900 off from the rental income received when calculating the tax due.

Other than the tax deduction buy financing your property, you can also buy more properties. Let say you have RM100,000 in hand. Instead of buying 1 RM100,000 property you should just pay RM10,000 for the down payment and you can finance your property for RM90,000. That means, you can have 10 properties by doing the same thing instead of buying only 1 property. But that is only an example to give you a clear picture. Do not do that! Remember you must have at least 3 months salary in your bank account ok? 4 or 5 properties is more than enough as you can rental as your business income for income tax. Meaning, if you have less than 4 houses, you will be listed under 4A section and get taxed but if you got 4 houses, you will be listed under 4D section and you even can claim money from them! Life is wonderful... isn't it?

You are a millionaire landlord when the tenants:
  1. pay rental on time
  2. pay rental automatically
  3. handle all minor problems themselves
  4. happy to have you as the landlord
The most imprtant thing is the Tenancy Agreement. You must have this in order to make sure everything is going smoothly. Most of my friends say that it is a waste of money when you have to pay for stamping and you will get taxed when they know you have rental as your side income. Mate, listen... if you do not have this Tenancy Agreement, you are not only risk yourself when they tear apart your lovely apartment like what tsunami does but they can also stay there for free! What prove do you have against them? Let make it as simple as it could be. My dad has experienced this before and so does my colleague's mom who didn't get rental payment for a bout a year simply because the tenant is in financial problem and need sympathy. Ouch!

There are more keys that will lead you to be a Millionaire Landlord but you need to get yourself a copy of this book. It is worth it! (ah RM39.90 for a great book like this? you spend more than that for your retail theraphy! liability!).

Where wealth is concerned, direction is more important than speed

A Mighty Heart

I have finished this book last week. I am glad that I have bought this book from Rozella. It is such a wonderful true story. Thanks Rozella for the great price :)

This book is about a man named Daniel Pearl or well known as Danny Pearl a Wall Street Journal reporter who went to Karachi with his pregnant wife Mariane Pearl. He was kidnapped by terrorist in Karachi and then found beheaded days after the kidnapping. The reason was because he is a Jewish! It was so tragic :(

When I think about Mariane and her son I cry. I really salute Mariane as she was so brave, strong and never give up till the end. I do not think I would have that strength if I was her.

To those who do not know anything about this you can simply google or surf about it in youtube. I did not know there is “A Mighty Heart” movie acted by Angelina Jolie as Mariane! I will get a copy of it for sure!

Here are the interesting excerpts:
Don’t lose your smile okay? We’re going to get bald and fat and old, but you can’t lose that smile –Danny Pearl-
This excerpt really touches me. Someone has said this to me before. When I reached this part, I just couldn’t help but having watery eyes.
How can anyone live without hope? – Mariane Pearl-
Objects inanimés, aves-vous donc une âme
Qui s’ attache à notre âme et la force d’aimer?
Inanimate objects, do you possess a soul
That comes to our soul, and demands to be loved?

-Alphonse de Lamartie-
Words of farewell to the house that Danny and Mariane stayed when there were in Karachi.
My love life needs a double-click. Sometimes in the process called life, my document titled ‘love life’ has been lost. And, like a cyber-crime investigator, I am trying to recover the lost file from the formatted hard disk of my heart – Dost-
I like this excerpt the most. Feel like it is just about me.

Thanks again Rozella!

Lahirnya Seorang Jutawan

This book is good. I have read a lot of books from Azizi Ali’s collection which you can visit the website here. Believe it or not, his books have helped me from being poor and now I would say I have nothing to worry about money. What I need to do is focus of what I have learned from him and keeps working out on my track.

Some of his books that I have read are mXe!, Jutawan Dari Planet Jupiter and How to Become A Property Millionaire. The main points are almost the same on how to save money and gain more money from what you have earned. Oh not to forget, a book about Internet Business from their website too.

Let me just share the topics that have been discussed in this book rather than I write the whole thing again. The topics are:

  1. Perjalanan Hidup Saya Sebagai Seorang Pekerja (My life as an employee)
  2. Pekerja Jutawan (Millionaire Employee)
  3. Anda tidak perlu kebenaran untuk menjadi kaya (You do not need the truth in order to be rich)
  4. Empat faktor yang memberi kesan ke atas pendapatan anda selaku pekerja (Four factors that affect your salary as an employee)
  5. Bagaimana untuk menjadi pekerja yang mempunyai pasaran (How to be a good employee in the market)
  6. Bagaimana untuk mendapatkan lebih banyak wang selaku pekerja (How to get more money as employee)
  7. Tidak semuanya indah (Everything is not beautiful)
  8. Serangan dari dua penjuru (Attacks from 2 sides)
  9. Menjadi ejen bebas (Be a freelance)
  10. Wujudkan SPT (Create SPT)
  11. Pembakar lanjut (NOS – speed up)
  12. Bagaimana untuk menyimpan wang (How to save money)
  13. Bagaimana untuk melabur wang dengan bijak (How to invest money wisely)
  14. Elakkan melakukan kesilapan wang yang besar (Avoid humongous financial mistake)
  15. Menjadi kaya adalah usaha berpasukan (Rich is about teamwork)

So, if you are interested to know the details I would suggest you to buy one copy of this (available in English too). Sometimes we know about these things but just that we never practice it or worse we have forgotten about them. So, books are good to keep us vigilant all the time. Currently I am reading “A Mighty Heart” by Mariane Pearl. I will write about it as soon as I finish. It is a sad true story about a journalist who get killed in Karachi. I have a handful of books to read and I am happy. What are you reading now?
