Update Twitter via Facebook Status?

Oh I’m so happy right now after trying so hard to solve this problem visiting so many website today and I solved it at last :)

I bet many of you know how to update your Facebook status via Twitter but it’s hard to make it works otherwise.

I found this useful a useful website from a forum. (Click here)

Then, I gave myself a try at the website given. (Click here)

In the website, what you need to do is paste the Profile link (login into your Facebook account and click Profile – then copy the link in the address box and paste in the website given where there is a box).

Click at the small box to tick for “This is my Facebook account”.

Click submit.

Copy the link given.

Go to Twitterfeed website. (Click here)

Paste the link that you copied from the website before into the box for RSS.

Follow the simple instructions.

Oh yea, do not forget to link with your Twitter account :)

iPhone screen goes black/blank

This evening when I was on my home I was shock with my black screen iPhone. My mother wants to buy dinner and when I stopped in front of the restaurant, I took out my iPhone from my pocket and it was black/blank as usual. Then when I pressed the Home button which it was suppose to show the slide to the right command on the screen did not appear. I pressed the power button; still it could not switch on.

Then I started to worry.

Hey, it was not even a month yet!

When reached home, I rushed to my room and put everything including my bag and water tumbler on my bed and sadly the water tumbler dropped on the floor and the water just splashed all over my things that were on the floor! Including my books and some modems! How lucky am I?

I cleaned up the mess and switched on the fan as fast as it could be. Took out my netbook and started to seek for solution on the internet.

It was easy.

What you need to do is press the power button and Home button together and holds them until the Apple logo appears.

Yay!

HP mini (Unicoolpack)

Remember I wrote about Unicoolpack by Streamyx before? Well, 2 weeks ago I got my internet line back and few days after I got this free netbook.

Unfortunately, my area doesn’t support 2Mbps and 4Mbps. So, I could only subscribe 1Mbps with super cheap price – RM68 only. Cheap right? Plus, free this cute and classy HP mini.

My advise to 1st and 2nd year students, go to you nearest TM Point now and apply for this package. It’s the best ever!

At last…

Do you remember, I was seeking for a camera and I couldn’t decide which type to buy? Then, I didn’t know which model suits me. Click here to read the earlier post.

Last week, Keith told me that there was a Camera Fair at Prangin Mall which end on 31st January 2010. Since my car still in the workshop for major repair, I thought it was a great idea. Also, I’ve to cancel attending my colleague son’s birthday party (Azali) in mainland.

So, we went there and it was crowded.

Many booth were there including Canon, Nikon, Sony and many more (I only list the well-known ones). Keith and I straight went to the Canon booth instead of other booth as I prefer Canon than any other brand :)

Since we weren’t seeking for compact, we took a look for DSLR. I looked at 1000D from far only as many people were holding it, cheapest though. Should be very affordable for everybody. Since I’ve asked around everywhere, Facebook, blog and peoples around me, the model that we compared were 450D and 500D (seriously, thanks to all of you!). The sales girl was very helpful. Congrats to Nam Loong, for manage to get great peoples handling their booth and get me hooked!

Then, after got some info from the girl and trying the camera of course, we went down and walked around Komtar and Prangin Mall to all the camera shops, that exist around that area. Many shops were closed maybe because it was Sunday but we managed to ask all shops that were open, and they couldn’t give me the great deal like I could get from the camera fair.

They gave me RM2,930.00 with tripod, basic lens 18-55mm, bag, free 8G memory and plus RM1.00 I got special package for 4 items. The 4 items are:

1. Photo session with professionals. They gave us 2 vacation; one is international and another one is domestic. You can choose Bali or Phuket for international and Genting, Port Dickson and Pahang for domestic. There is a rule and condition that I don’t like it much, so this one is still under consideration.
2. Free calendar with your best 12 photos taken by you, of course.
3. Free 1 day workshop, which they will teach you basic.
4. 2-year warranty which is 1-year from Canon and 1-year from Nam Loong.

It sounds good isn’t it? To those who are interested, sorry. Last date was 31st January 2010.

I don’t have much time at the moment, preparation for badminton tournament on 20th February 2010 inter LHDNM, Penang. Assignments and quiz. Cameron Highlands from 6th to 8th February.

So, I will update my blog with my own pictures start from today :) Unless, it’s impossible for some circumstances. Still playing and learning with my 500D, with it’s function like P, AV, flower etc. Also, try to figure out IS, Shuttle speed, Aperture and so on :) Love it!

Camera: Compact or DSLR?

I have difficulty, curiosity about what camera to buy.

Compact or DSLR?

I like taking pictures, but when I think about the size, I think compact is handy.

Then, I look at pictures uploaded by some friends and bloggers. I think DSLR suits me.

Starting this year, I’m going to start my journey of life. Meaning, I’m going to enjoy myself, have fun, experience new things at other people’s countries. At least, other people’s state. So, it’s good to grab this opportunity, to snap some good pictures for my memories.

I still have some gloss papers which I got them when I bought my 3-in-1 printer, which include printing, scanning and photocopying function. I had used all the functions but I haven’t tried photo printing on glossy paper, yet.

Just now, I’ve discussed with some of my colleagues and they advised me to buy DSLR, instead.

The next question is about which brand to buy?

Some bloggers suggested Nikon. Colleagues suggested Canon.

How to contact Streamyx when your landline telephone can’t be used?

I don’t know about this until I faced a problem with internet here at my friend’s house.

We couldn’t connect to the internet, then he ran to grab the landline telephone to call TMnet/Streamyx. Sadly, his telephone couldn’t call out, not even a dial tone.

Now, we’re stuck.

We can’t call out using landline telephone and we can’t call telephone and internet provider with our cell phone.

I called my mom with my cell phone earlier on for helping me to get provider number from the operator. She said the operator told her that we can’t call TMnet or Streamyx with a cell phone. Only with a landline telephone.

How could that possible? I mean, we are a developing country. So goes with the technology, but what the hell with “you can only contact them with landline telephone”?

Don’t you think the company’s superiors never think of a solution to solve this?

Instead of press 100 for landline telephone, they should have a number or two for helpline. Is it so much burden if people call from a cell phone? Or are they worry that people won’t subscribe their stupid line and internet because we’re using cell phone to call them? If they really think so, that’s so lame.

No wonder, more and more friends of mine cut their idiotic internet provider and subscribe 3G Broadband from Maxis, Celcom and Digi or P1Wimax which is the latest, even though they’re not as fast as the idiotic one.

I really hope someday soon, we will have another Broadband company that will provide better service than Streamyx. Trust me, more people will change to the new one.

It’s understood that when they have no good competitor, they tend to be lack of good service and less concern to their loyal customer.

Right now, I can only keep my fingers crossed and pray to God that they will be defeated soon. Amin.

can't open your hard disk?

Have you ever encountered this problem before? You click on your hard dick disk (C or D drive usually) and it takes you somewhere else such as My Document folder?

I encountered this problem yesterday when I was at work and asked my friend any good anti virus for micro virus that infected my MS WORDS lately. He gave me ComboFix and after ran that program I just couldn’t open my hard disk anymore.

I was busy yesterday and only have time to find the remedy today. So, here is the solution:

1. Start
2. Run
3. Type this: regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
4. Click ok

Done. Simple right? :)

Intel cuts to affect up to 6,000 workers

Chipmaker to cut production at 2 U.S. plants, shut 3 facilities in Asia.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Chipmaker Intel Corp. announced Wednesday that it will be cutting production at two U.S. silicon wafer facilities and closing three facilities in Asia, affecting between 5,000 and 6,000 workers. (This isn't a great news to my friends who work in Intel)

Intel, in a news release, said some of the workers could be offered positions at other facilities.

"The fact that they're taking action rather quickly to rightsize production" is encouraging, said Doug Freedman, analyst at research firm Broadpoint AmTech.

Intel, like other chipmakers, needs to scale production to a level that matches demand, according to Freedman.

The No. 1 maker of microprocessors said production will be halted at the Fab 20 facility in Hillsboro, Ore., and the D2 facility in Santa Clara, Calif.

Operations are being shut at two facilities in Penang, Malaysia, and a third in Cavite, Philippines. (Are you ready guys?)

The plant shutdowns are slated to occur between now and the end of the year, according to Intel.

The company said the reduction in manufacturing capacity will not affect the production of its new 45-nanometer and 32-nanometer chips.

Last week Intel posted a 90% decline in fourth-quarter earnings, as demand for computer components declined through the last part of 2008. Because of the uncertain economic climate, the company refused to offer any guidance for what the first quarter will bring. (If The No. 1 maker of microprocessors has 90% decline, what about others?)

However, Intel did say that profit margins would perk back up to normal levels by the second half of the year, even though capital spending would be relatively flat, or even recede in 2009.

"When the economy gets a headache, we (the tech industry) get the flu," said Freedman.

Intel is widely viewed as a proxy for the health of the overall PC industry, since its products are a key component for most computer manufacturers.

Shares of Intel (INTC, Fortune 500) rose 1.13% to $13.41 a share in after-hours trading.

My sister's friend who often comes to our house recently was shocked with a bad news. After few scanning, she had been told that the lump in her body has 90% possibility is cancer based on some symptoms.

As additional to her sorrow, her factory did some great retrenchment and she was involved.

I pray that it is not cancer; she is just 18 years old and still a long way to go.

750 free WiFi hotspots for Penang in two years

GEORGE TOWN (Jan 21, 2009) : Penang will have up to 750 free WiFi hotspots in two years’ time despite protests from various anti-WiFi groups about the potential health risks of exposure to radiation.

RedTone Group MD Wei Chuan Beng demonstrates the internet connection through the Free WiFi Wireless@Penang project to Lim and Ooi. Looking on is RedTone CEO Lau Bik Soon.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who launched the Wireless @ Penang Penang Free WiFi test drive with RedTone-Hotgate at Komtar on this afternoon, said the state government has evaluated all evidence before continuing with the project.

"All evidence point to the fact that WiFi is safe. If not, we can’t send our children to universities too because all universities here have WiFi," he said.

Lim also said he and Jelutong MP Jeff Ooi are exposed to WiFi 24 hours a day as they have four WiFi hotspots in Komtar and in their homes.

"If WiFi is harmful, Jeff and I will be the first to get fried by radiation."

Redtone-Hotgate Consortium set up a promotional booth in Komtar for the public to test the free wireless internet services provided jointly by REDtone Telecommunications Sdn Bhd and Hotgate Technology (M) Sdn Bhd. Free WiFi booths are also set up at two other pilot sites at Queensbay Mall and Bukit Jambul Complex and the booths will be open for three days starting Wednesday.

The booths are located at the Komtar main entrance, the lower ground floor of Queensbay Mall and the ground floor of Bukit Jambul Complex.

Redtone-Hotgate Consortium will install up to 25 hotspots by the end of February and coverage will extend to 300 hotspots, including the mainland, by March 2010.

Ok, some of my friends and colleagues have been asking me about this problem. Many of them download the latest Ares 2.0.9 and couldn't make it connected. It will keep connecting forever and never get connected.

Ok here is the solution.

1. Open Ares.
2. Click this link.
3. Close Ares.
4. Re-open Ares.

What is new?

I have nothing much to say today just a little bit of politic and technology.

I would agree with Mukhriz about UMNO should stay focus on rebuilding UMNO rather than focusing on DSAI. UMNO has been paralyzed since the greatest tsunami in March. Therefore, they should step back on the track and focus on what is important and ignore the craps.

About ISA, 2 out and 1 remain. Now Teresa has been released and she is fighting for justice about no solid reason for her detention. Let see what is next.

Penang will be the first WiFi state. This is really good news as Penang is not that big and this can attract foreigner from other countries. Penang is a well known beautiful state which is famous for its historical places, beautiful beaches and good foods.

How to set your web browser as default?

Okay guess many people know about this but still I want to share :) No harm right? I had a problem with Yahoo Messenger actually. I set Mozilla as my default browser but every time I clicked on Yahoo Messenger link (the message/notice people usually put next to their nickname) it will open Internet Explorer (IE) browser.

So I did this :

1. Go to control panel
2. Click on Add or Remove Programs
3. Add/remove Windows Component
4. Then untick IE

Still there was no different. Then I did this :

1. Click the start menu
2. Click on Set Program Access and Defaults
3. Choose Custom
4. Click the arrow down
5. Look for “Choose a default web browser” and select Mozilla Firefox
6. Click OK

You are done! :)

Today I got my unique gadget. I've ordered this thing few days ago since my colleague wanna go to Pc Deport [well, he was the one intro this gadget to me]. This gadget is cool and I have no idea how it works. Look at the title, yes... fm modulator. Meaning, it uses radio frequency to play your music. You just need to plug in this gadget to the car through cigar plug [yes exactly like you charge your phone in the car]. Then tune the radio frequency to the one not occupied yet. At first I was like "You nut? How is that possible?". Then when I use it, big smile on my face. It's cool when you can put any songs you like in your pen drive and play them on this gadget. The price is cheap -- RM55.00. Not only pen drive, but you can use cd player, dvd player, sd/mmc card [phone memory] and mp3/mp4 player. Right now I'm using RedFox. I listened to songs that I like on my way home just now =)
