Picnic at Batu Ferringhi

This post has been pending for so long since I could not wait to post about my travel and share with you. Sharing about the travel experience is something you cannot find in the travel website including the Astro channel -- Travel & Living :P

I mean the website and the tv channel usually get paid promoting the good thing about places where else I'm sharing not only good but bad things that happen there not to scare you but to advise.

So, instead of telling you about my other travel trip I will share with you this picnic which was not planned properly and it was a very last minute plan and preparation. Thanks to Keith, Miza and Fariza for making it happened.

The last time I came here was with Cik Wanie, Mama and another blogger. To my surprise, it was a bit crowded and I hardly find a good place for us to sit and enjoy the food. Oh yes, I did not plan to swim there since I have swam in the clearer water in Thailand and Mabul :P

We just reached and could not wait to eat the Nasi Lemak. Starving! Haha.

The menu! So tempting isn't it? Most of them prepared by Miza except the fruits and chicken helped by Fariza and thanks to my sister for the nasi lemak (coconut rice).

The mayonnaise omelet. Prepared by Miza.

The mixed spices chicken. Finger licking good! Prepared by Miza and Fariza.

Taking picture...

Busy with handphone or busy preparing???

Oh ok, injured my foot when I was busy taking pictures and I didn't see the coconut tree root was hidden underneath the sand and I accidentally hit it and scratched my foot. Look not so serious but it last for weeks. Pretty deep the wound.

The host :)

The yummy sambal bilis and sotong!

I went to the stall nearby for coconut! Not a good one if I compare with the one I had in Bali!

Relaxing my mind by looking at the sea... how serene...

It's cool to just hang out with friends for a picnic like this. Talking, laughing and eating. You just enjoy yourself and it can help to release your stress too.

Life should be this way... it's short and you just need to be happy and enjoy. Appreciate every moment you have and don't be sad. Bad things might be happen to you (like some incidents that happen to me: car got stolen, dengue fever, reschedule exam alone, back pain and cramp, dad admitted in the hospital, sister with some virus attack and admitted to the hospital too and many more) but you must accept it and if it is a problem you just need to solve it one by one, don't run and hide.

Be happy! :)

Lenchee Kang (Mat Toh Yau)

Yes, it is lenchee kang not laici kang! Many people pronounce it wrongly. Have you tried it with milk? You should! It is as nice as the original one, unless you don't like milk. This one I ate at Jelutong. The famous Mat Toh Yau.

Serabai

Have you ever heard of Serabai before? You must eat this if you go to Astaka Taman Tun Sardon, Gelugor. If you look around, you will be surprised that most of the tables have this as one of the customer's menu.

You should try! :)

Sinful

Look at what I ate last night. I need a good cardio to 'wash' the calories :-)

Very sinful.

Gotta hit the gym now!

Restoran Sri Idaman

I ate at Restoran Sri Idaman for dinner just now :)
As usual, we seek for lala (clamp) for our favourite dish – black pepper. Too bad (since last week), they had no lala tonight :( I think they have the best lala in Penang!

How I miss this :(
So, we still order the dish that we usually eat:

It’s Belitung or some people call it Siput Sedut. Here, we never try other style of cooking instead of masak lemak cili api. You should try this!

The Pari Asam Pedas was good. I thought they cook it in Malacca style but I was wrong. It was Penang style but delicious of course :) My first try.

Here is the map if anyone interested to try.

Maybe I will be a flogger again this year :)
I will see the response. If it’s good. Then I will keep writing about food.

Soccer and meeting new people

Ah, I forgot to write about this.

My apologize to Mak Itam and Pak itam.

When everybody were busy with World Cup, I was busy making friends. Meeting new people. This time I met Wanie’s relative called Mak Itam and Pak Itam together with their son.

It was Pak Itam’s birthday so we met at Restoran Kapitan in front of QueensBay Mall for dinner and celebrate his birthday.

CIMG6622 Yea, same faces.

CIMG6627… with my garlic nan and tandoori chicken.

CIMG6628Pak Itam with his foods. He really ate a lot :)

CIMG6631 After eating, I watched the game between Portugal vs Brasil

Harvest In

A new place found by my friend is Harvest In. It’s located at Irrawady Road which is somewhere around Citibank area. You can email me at chanija@yahoo.com for the direction or kindly leave message in my Facebook inbox.
The foods there are much better than JL cafe at Prangin Mall (which my friend told me exactly like Mizi’s cafe at New World Park). Only that the portion in Harvest In is smaller than them. Who cares about the portion when the taste is so delicious? At least, I do not care :)
I have been there 3 times and these were the foods that I have tasted (sorry for bad quality pictures as there were taken by my Nokia N70 phone-camera) :
My first time…
200720105091 Grilled BBQ chicken (the gravy is so delicious and the chicken is very tender)
200720105090Black pepper fried rice (delicious!)
200720105088 Soup and garlic bread (nothing special)
200720105089Juices were good!
My second time…
image  Chicken Cordon Bleu (this one confirm much better than JL!)
image Yummy black pepper steak!
… and the 3rd time,
image Chef’s choice chicken chop (I’d say so so as it was crispy enough but the gravy was so so like others)
image Delicious too :)
I’ll surely go again to Harvest In soon. What about you?

Tao Cuisine

IMG_3536
Any of you have been to Tao before?
I didn’t upload any picture of my first time at Tao Cuisine, E-Gate, Penang. So, the second time I went to Juru Autocity to try the food there even though I knew it’d be the same, I heard the environment is nicer. Why not, give a try right?
I went to Sunway Carnival for Espirit sales but nothing much to choose or buy. Bought some buns at Bread History for sahur later and drove out to Tao Cuisine, Juru Autocity.
Reached there pretty late around 8.30pm. As usual, I didn’t know how to go there from Sunway Carnival Mall. I text Azim and Zana but no reply. Then, Zana called me up to give the direction. Thank you Zana! :)
As soon as we reached there, the waiter suggested to try their top 10 dishes. We just nodded.
IMG_3535 Sushi. I just took this for appetizer. I was starving!
IMG_3538 1) Scallops.
IMG_35392) Abalone.
IMG_35403) Cheesy Salmon.
IMG_35424) Tempura.
IMG_35445) Some balls.
IMG_35456) Sashimi.
IMG_3546 7) Cheesy crackers
IMG_35478) Mantis prawn.
Eh, now I realize that we didn’t get all of them. I mean the 10 dishes! :) But we ordered more…
IMG_3562 9) We ordered soft shell crab but we got this instead -- small crabs and shrimps.
IMG_357910) Spicy mussels.
IMG_359311) Boiled peas.
IMG_360312) Cheesy deep fried cuttlefish
IMG_360413) Spicy clams.

All of them look delicious right? :)
I don’t lie here, they were very delicious! I feel like eating them all again, seriously.
IMG_3558 Abalone anyone?
IMG_3564See how small the crab?
IMG_3548Burp!
imageOur drinks.
image   Our desserts. The latte was awesome! :)
I didn’t  know Juru Autocity is so cool. Never been there, but I’ll surely go there again in the future!

Tamparuli Bridge (Tuaran, Sabah)
