Thomas Cup 2010

image

Tonight, it’s end of our hope. I don’t blame our players. No, not at all.

For me, they have played their best just that China is too strong and unbeatable. Seriously, I don’t see any other teams that can beat China. I’d say Malaysia is the 2nd strongest still after China even though we have been beaten by Japan in the 1st round.

What we need to do is to improve. Our players have potential just that we have to train harder and get some good strategies. If you realize, China players are getting stronger. Talking about strong, I guess they have to be the best as China is a big country and they have to struggle; so that they can be in the team. Unlike, Malaysia or any other teams; they are not big countries and not much competition compared to China.

I do hope our players will train harder next time. If not the best, at least we can give China a good fight not as bad as tonight.

Our first single is good enough, but we must train a new single player start from now as he is getting older. He must learn how to overcome pressure and still the best player for me. Lin Dan is good but hate the way of his psychology attack. He usually will delay the game with some excuses and the best example is wiping his sweat at the base line, which means he needs to walk from the service area to the base line. I never deny he is a good player though.

First double is my favourite too. I wonder how they could lose to China as they defeated All England finalist 2 days ago? A bit upset.

Second single is the worst compared to the rest I guess as he didn’t win at all in Thomas Cup 2010. He is 33 years old this year and I guess we need a young player to replace him. I don’t think it’s impossible because if you realize badminton is the most famous sport in Malaysia. You have to book court in order to play as courts in Malaysia usually fully occupied. So, impossible if there’s no new player at all. Get new players and train them from today.

Second double, we have to train them harder. Those who has no discipline like bad temper and stuff like that, give them chance twice. If they repeat the same mistake, kick them out. They are useless if they can’t control their anger. Same thing in the court or outside, they must know how to control and react. Players must have brain.

So, don’t give up but train harder. China has deleted the word “give up” since few years ago. Don’t give them more chance to win Thomas Cup.

You can do it Malaysia!

  5. yup. i agree with u..
lin dan is quite psycho.. haha.. but, he's a very good player. no doubt. even those were his strategies to defeat lee chong wei.

malaysia is strong, but not strong enough to beat china.

It's hard to beat that China bloke. He thrashed Lee Chong Wei in the second set.

  15. mei teng - chong wei lose focus. both are good just that who could handle pressure then would be the winner :)

  16. When you are a professional, there is just no excuse like" they are too good to beat" , you should really blame yourself for the fiasco......

since last night, i have no high hope on them already especially the coaches

  19. eugene - i was hoping they win japan easily, but too bad. i watched the game between indonesia and japan. they could win easily unlike us, we struggled and end up we lose.

thing would be otherwise if we win against japan. i mean, at least the final is between china and malaysia even though everybody knows that we can't win them.

  24. pakmat - yep pakmat, that is not only yours or mine, it's all malaysian's worry. if there's no action will be taken for the next thomas cup competition, it's possible that we'll complete the 20 years no winning. unfortunately, no holiday too :)

    let's pray :)
