Blood Donation

Today we had blood donation event at my office. About 50 staff involved and that was exclude people from outside. It really gave me a big smile on my face to see how concern people nowadays.

50 out of 300 staff. Not good enough.

When I asked some of them about why they don’t want to donate, they simply gave me a lot of reasons and excuses.

A: I’m afraid of needle.

B: I’ll faint.

C: I got a lot of diseases.

D: I took medicine yesterday.

… and some other possible excuses that could be applied.

To make the matter worse, our director didn’t allow us to go back 2 hours earlier as usual which made a lot of the staff complaint. Well, I don’t think it is a good idea to cancel at last minute like this. I’m afraid that the amount of donator will decrease next time. Not because going back early is the only reason people want to donate, even though if it is their reason, director should be proud that many of the staff willing to donate. I mean, how many of government companies do this and get as many staff as our company? I’m not bragging anything; just I speak on other people’s behalf which I heard from them after donating.

Who can poke his nose to make this thing clear? Er.

    - faisal tersedar, bila cousin perlukan darah yang banyak. waktu tu, baru tahu betapa pentingnya darah. karma "what goes around, comes around" kan selalu berlaku. jadi takut juga kan, bila kita perlukan, darah tak cukup pula :)

  9. Guess the director himself didn't donate blood?

Eventually everyone should help... especially those who gave such excuses. One day when they need blood, and there isn't any for them, would they then realized it is too late? then by then.. it is too late...

  10. ladyviral - he donated blood that day. just that i think if the rule stays like usual, it will encourage more people to donate, indirectly.

yes, i agree with your point. it will be too late.

  13. Lucky you! I only donated once.

And itu pun setelah 9 kali kena rejected due to anemic la, low blood pressure la, darah cair la, tak cukup zat besi la, tak cukup berat badan and yang paling best, I pernah try 2 kali at the same place sampai abang tu cakap "adik, awal minggu hari tu da datang, tak boleh. hari ni last pun tak boleh. So, balik la... gi makan besi bebanyak!" Rasa nak penampo je abng tu, nasib baik ensem *wink*

Yang lepas sekali tu pon, balik da tak boleh nak jalan. my staff kena call my ex-fiancee and he had to carry me to the car. kepal da pusing da! terus dapat mc seminggu! hahahhahaa...

  14. haha. so lucky me eh? dah la berat i naik lagik. the last time i weight myself, 68kg je. sekarang dah 72kg. haha, guess you know why. makan non-stop!

hmm, ada gak beberapa member yang underweight dan darah cair. lagi dua orang colleagues asyik urat pecah. hehe, nak gelak pun ada.

setiap kali derma darah rasa best je, ye la, at least tu salah satu cara i berbakti pada negara. mana tahu satu hari nanti, i pula yang perlukan darah kan. kita tak akan tahu.

nak aim sampai 50 kali derma! hehe.
