Budak Melayu bermata biru jadi tumpuan

image

SUNGAI PETANI 23 April - Kampung Teluk Amboi, Pulau Sayak, Kota Kuala Muda dekat sini menjadi tumpuan penduduk sejak beberapa hari lalu gara-gara seorang kanak-kanak lelaki Melayu bermata biru.

Kanak-kanak tersebut, Mohd. Aizat Aiman Mohd.

"Semasa dilahirkan, matanya berwarna hitam macam kebanyakan kita. Namun, selepas beberapa bulan ia berubah warna menjadi biru dan berkilauan.

"Kami sekeluarga hairan kerana tidak mempunyai darah kacukan orang barat ataupun Asia Barat," katanya ketika ditemui Utusan Malaysia di sini semalam.

Ahmad berkata, keluarganya pernah membawa Mohd.

Namun, katanya, doktor mengesahkan mata Mohd.

Ditanya tentang kejadian aneh sebelum Mohd.

Kami doakan agar dia mempunyai sifat sempurna seperti orang lain," katanya.

Clash of the Titans

Have you watched this movie? :)

Yeah, when I watched this, it was in the Cinema-8 which means the smallest one in QueensBay Mall. I did not mind and was hoping that no people watching this anymore. The less the merrier :)

So, last Monday I went there to buy the ticket for Wednesday. Prefer the last row at the back. More comfy.

This movie is a good one even though it's is not the best movie of the year. I’d say Iron Man 2 can beat the rest but we still have to wait until the end of the year.

The film begins with a narration that explains the three Olympians who battled the Titans long ago: Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. Hades provides their means of defeating the Titans with his creation, the Kraken. After the Titans' defeat, Zeus created humans and ruled them while Poseidon ruled the sea, but Hades, having been deceived by his brother Zeus was forced to rule the Underworld, learns an alternative means of gaining power from humans different from his brothers receiving theirs from human devotion; through fear.

Millennia later, a fisherman named Spyros finds a coffin adrift in the sea, discovering a baby, Perseus, and his dead mother, Danaë, inside. Spyros decides to raise Perseus as his own. Years later, Perseus and his family are fishing when they witness a group of soldiers from Argos destroying a statue of Zeus as a declaration of war against the gods. Hades appears and commands harpies to massacre the soldiers before he himself destroys Perseus's family's fishing boat. Perseus tries to save his family, but to no avail, the surviving soldiers take Perseus back to Argos. During a feast for the returning soldiers King Cepheus and Queen Cassiopeia of Argos compare themselves and their daughter, Andromeda, to the gods much their daughter's dismay. After convincing his brother to let him loose on humanity to punish Argos for its defiance, Hades appears in the courtroom before killing the remaining soldiers while Perseus is unaffected. Revealing Perseus to be the demigod son of Zeus, and aging Cassiopeia to death, Hades threatens that if Princess Andromeda is not sacrificed to the Kraken, Argos will be destroyed in 10 days.

The king seeks the help of Perseus after he is placed in the dungeon. Perseus initially refuses until he meets Io, a woman who does not age as punishment for refusing to be seduced by a god. Io then reveals his conception was a punishment conducted by Zeus on Acrisius, the former king of Argos who was married to Danaë, for his actions against the gods. When Acrisius sets Danaë and the baby Perseus adrift in their coffin; an enraged Zeus struck Acrisius with lightning, leaving him hideously disfigured. After learning that killing the Kraken would allow him to have his revenge against Hades, Perseus accepts as he and Argos' finest soldiers embark on a quest to find the Stygian Witches with a pair of hunters and Io following. To counter this turn of events, Hades enlists Acrisius, now called Calibos, to kill off Perseus by giving him a bit of his power.

While in the woods, Perseus and his men discover a sword forged in Olympus that will only display power if it is wielded by Perseus. While seperated from the group, Perseus encounters Zeus' sacred herd of flying horses, the Pegasus. However, Perseus refuses both the sword and the pure-black Pegasus that the gods were offering as assistance, as he does not wish to be a god. Calibos attacks the group, but Calibos is unsuccessful, losing his hand before escaping. However, Calibos's blood forms giant scorpions from the sand that attack Perseus and his group. Though they slay several scorpions, most of the group are slain, and the survivors are surrounded by more of the monsters. They are saved by the Djinn, cursed men with magical powers, who tame the scorpions. Though not trusted prior to healing Perseus's wound, a Djinn joins Perseus's group as his kind wish to see the gods defeated.

At the Garden of Stygia, the Stygian Witches tell Perseus that the head of Medusa could kill the Kraken, but that Perseus and his group will die in the process. After leaving the witches, with the hunters taking their leave, Perseus is visited by Zeus who offers him asylum on Mount Olympus. He refuses. Zeus gives him instead a golden drachma, which Perseus later learns is a means to bribe Charon for passage into the Underworld. While Io remains outside Medusa's lair, due to a spell that forbids any woman from entering the area, Perseus's remaining soldiers fight hard to stay alive, turning to stone one by one by her gaze. But with the Djinn self-destructing himself and Draco's sacrifice, Perseus manages to behead Medusa. Perseus emerges in time to see Calibos kill Io by stabbing her from behind. Perseus engages Calibos in combat and kills him using the sword from Olympus, turning him back into Acrisius in human form. With his final breath, Acrisius tells Perseus to never become a god. Perseus rides Pegasus back to Argos with Medusa's head to find some citizens of Argos have formed a cult of Hades and are planning to sacrifice Andromeda to the Kraken. Hades reveals to Zeus the destruction of Argos will give him enough power to overthrow the other Olympians. As the Kraken begins its advance, Zeus learns of Hades's true agenda and is powerless to stop him as the god leaves for Argos to ensure his victory.

Perseus returns to Argos, but Hades sends his harpies to stop him. Perseus defeats the creatures sent by Hades and uses the head of Medusa to turn the Kraken into stone as Cepheus is killed by the cult leader, who is then crushed under the shattering Kraken. Using the sword, Perseus drives Hades back to the Underworld. After saving Argos from destruction, Andromeda suggests that Perseus become king and rule Argos at her side, but he declines. Zeus appears before Perseus again and offers to make him a god, but for a second time he refuses. Zeus warns Perseus that Hades will return to rule the world in darkness when he amasses enough fear from mankind. Since Perseus is intent to stay on Earth, Zeus resurrects Io, and the two embrace while Pegasus flies above them.

Same ones twice.

An Indonesian, a Bangladeshi and a Malaysian are in a bar one night having a beer. The Indonesian finishes his beer and suddenly throws his glass in the air, pulls out a gun and shoots the glass to pieces. He brags, "In Jakarta

our glasses are so cheap that we don't need to drink from the same one twice."

The Bangladeshi [obviously impressed by this] drinks his beer, throws his glass into the air, pulls out his gun and shoots the glass to pieces. He says, "In Dhaka we have so much sand to make the glasses that we don't need to drink out of the same glass twice either."

The Malaysian, cool as a cucumber, finishes his drink, throws his glass into the air, pulls out his gun and shoots the Indonesian & the Bangladeshi. He says "In KL we have so many Indon and Bangla that we don't need to drink with the same ones twice."

Tikus di dalam kuah roti canai?

image

“Pekerja terbabit mencedok seketul daging berserta kuah sebelum dibungkus bersama roti canai.

–SH

My presents

I’ve been planned to write about this for so long. Now, I’m on leave, I have plenty of time for studying and also do whatever I want including blogging :)

Few months ago, Fai Zakaria, one of my good blogger friends came to Penang on painting competition purpose. Mind you, she is such a great artist! You should visit her website, who knows maybe you are interested in them.

It was her birthday and we made a surprise party for her. At first I told her that me and Keith could not come as tomorrow we are working and karaoke around 10pm is very late. She did not sound happy but tried her best  to laugh. Good try babe! :)

The party was great, we had a lot of laugh, foods and songs! One of my good memories for 2010.

She gave me present (Fai seriously, we bought for you and her something too but because we were rushing to take the cake somewhere, we left them at home. Sorry ya!).

Look at these:

IMG_1157 Oh! one is mine another one is Keith’s.

IMG_1158 Ok, this is how my present looks like. I like it!! Thanks Fai. Thanks for the CD too :)

Then, I met another blogger recently known as Cik Wanie a very famous blogger who is also a business woman. She own a boutique which her partner is her own mom. Both of them are very friendly and cool.

We met at bowling centre in Bukit Jambul Complex together with Azim.

I did not bring my camera, so if you want to see the event pictures you can go to Cik Wanie or Azim’s blog :) A lot of pictures taken by them.

So this was what I got from Cik Wanie:

Nasi Ayam Periuk Besar

Have you ever heard of this chicken rice before? People used to claim it’s the best chicken rice in Penang. In fact, some other places too? I don’t know.

I ate there 4 times including today. It was long time ago since I ate there the 3rd time.

1st time, at night. It was sucks.

2nd time, during lunch. It was good.

3rd time, at night. It was sucks. The chicken was not fresh.

Before I forgot, this one I mention in here is the one in Bayan Baru.

Today, they really piss me off.

Mom was not well, and I took her together with my youngest sister to clinic. She got tonsillitis, cough and fever. After that, I took them there since mom wanted to eat rice and there was no water at home. Sister could not cook then.

So, I took them to this restaurant.

1st thing piss me off, the upper level closed. I wondered why since it was too hot down stair and mom was sick. Fine…

2nd, the place got flies. Can’t they think of something that could put the flies away? Fine…

3rd, it was so so.

4th, when I got the bill, I usually check. I saw the price RM7.30 per plate. I was not sure about the exact price but I remembered I saw RM6.90 in the menu. The girl, walked away from the cashier counter as soon as I got my receipt. Oh ya, mind you, there was no cashier. The waitress was the cashier, too.

We walked into the car together, and as soon as everybody in the car; I asked them whether they saw or knew about Nasi Ayam Dot Com’s price? They, too, were shock about the price.

Ok, I got 10% discount as advertised on the board there -– promotion price (eh, promotion price? after the business has been opened for quite some times).

So, how much is the exact price???

I searched on internet, and this was what I found -–> here.

And, this is my bill:

Nasi Ayam Periuk Besar Price

Big enough for you to read?

I won’t go there anymore. Enough said.

P/s: We planned to buy for my dad as he was on the way home from work, but cancel the plan. Whose loss? :)

Human Tiger

As obsessions go this has to be one of the weirdest known to man - someone who would voluntarily file his teeth, split his lip and undergo extensive facial surgery - to turn himself into a 'human tiger'.

Dennis Avner, 50, is descended from American Indians, and has spent 'an uncalculated amount' of money on making himself look like a big cat, after a discussion with a Native chief who inspired him to 'follow the ways of the tiger'.

Avner's body modification operations have included bifurcation (splitting) of his upper lip, surgical pointing of the ears, silicone cheek and forehead implants, tooth filing, tattoos, and facial piercing - to which whiskers can be attached.

Cat Man must eat meat every day - 'just as a tiger would'

Avner, from Tonopah, Nevada, likes to go by his Indian name 'Stalking Cat'.

'I am Huron and following a very old tradition have transformed myself into a tiger,' he says on his website stalkingcat.com.

The tiger aficionado - naturally - enjoys climbing trees and must eat meat 'every day, just as a tiger would.'

This should be 'as close to raw as possible, or at the temperature that an animal would be if it had just been killed,' he told The Sun.

But Cat can't live the tiger's life 24 hours a day - he has human needs too. These he meets by working in an office - 'the only difference is I look like a cat' - or by making personal TV appearances, which have included Larry King Live, VH1's 'Totally Obsessed' and Kerrang!

His latest public appearance was at the new Ripley's Believe It Or Not! museum, which opened this week in London's Piccadilly Circus.

The museum features oddities from across the world - including a sixteenth-century iron maiden torture device and three antique shrunken heads made by the Jivaro Indians of Ecuador.

Eye of the Tiger: Dennis wear green contacts with split irises to complete his look

But what of Stalking Cat's personal life? How do real-life Cat Men find Cat Women?

It's difficult - but not impossible: 'I'm seeing a couple of women at the moment,' says Cat. 'They understand that being a tiger is more important to me than humanity, which is difficult for many women to cope with.'

Alice in Wonderland

image

I guess most of you have watched Alice in Wonderland (Underland lah!). I only got the chance to watch it last night. I prefer to watch on Wednesday because it’s cheap and on weekend because I won’t be tired as on weekdays.

Didn’t plan to watch last night either, because I had badminton friendly match between my company and KASTAM. Stated in the email, the time was 8.30pm. But like others always say “Janji Melayu” (hate it, but it’s true!), we started at 9pm. In fact, later than that! Weird thing was, the hostess was late and we had to wait for them. So, right after badminton, I went home and got ready for movie.

Reached there sharp at 11.35pm and the movie started.

I was a bit confuse why Alice was so big and the engagement? Did I miss something in the book?

I always imagine that the soldiers were the exact poker cards. But they were not.

Where was the king and Humpty Dumpty? Suppose Alice met Humpty Dumpty in the wall right?

Alice suppose to run here and there from one square to another? The train?

Suppose she fell into the well which I suppose down there almost like sewer. But in the movie it was a house?

… and did I miss the 2 monsters in the book?

Alice suppose to be a queen in the end right? No?

Eh, so many questions! Haha.

Ok, overall the movie was great. I like it so much. Very straight forward, good storyline (of course since it is based on Lewis Carroll’s book).

My friend said, the best character would be The Red Queen, but I said Mad Hatter :)

If you haven’t watched the movie, I’d suggest you read the book first. Then, you will know all the characters better and what is the movie about. Ok?
