'Adnan Sempit' set to be top grossing local movie

image

ADNAN Sempit, the comedy about Mat Rempit with a vision, is on track to become the highest grossing local movie of all time.

The movie, directed by Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nazri, made RM5 million in just 11 days, a feat unheard of for a local movie.

The movie, which does not feature any big names, is expected to hit RM6 million in its third week.

Last year, two movies -- Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak and Geng Pengembaraan Bermula -- made RM6.1 million and RM6.2 million respectively.

However, it took both movies the entire cinema run of one month, to collect that amount.

Adnan Sempit has already created two new records for a local movie.

It holds the record for the biggest opening-day takings for a local movie at RM510,000.

It also holds the record for the biggest one-day collection for a local movie at RM950,000. It achieved this on its first Saturday screening.

At the rate the movie is going, it has a chance of achieving the impossible -- a box- office collection of RM8 million.

Many local film producers, including David Teo, had in the past predicted that their movies would make RM8 million at the box office.

Most managed to hit RM3 million and only a few made more than RM5 million.

Movies that made more than RM5 million include Sembilu 2, Lagi-Lagi Senario, Jangan Pandang Belakang, Cicakman, Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak and Geng Pengembaraan Bermula.

Although some movie critics panned the film, Adnan Sempit continues to get support from the audience.

Moviegoers have posted their comments about the movie in their blogs and entertainment forums on the Internet. Most recommended others to watch the movie. Some have even seen the movie several times.

Positive postings via FaceBook and Twitter have also helped to convince others to watch the movie in cinemas.

These "thumbs up" from moviegoers are the best promotion that money can't buy.

There is no doubt that film producers can spend a lot of money to promote their movies, but in many cases, bad reviews and negative comments and postings on blogs and entertainment forums, can kill their movies. Jin Notti and MySpy are just some of such examples.

Although major telcos had spent a lot on promotional advertisements in both the electronic and print media, Jin Notti and MySpy managed to collect only RM2.1 million and RM1.2 million respectively.

The only setback that will prevent Adnan Sempit from hitting the RM8 million mark is the cinema operators.

Like all local movies, it is protected under the government's compulsory screening rule for two weeks. Major cinemas must screen the movie in the bigger halls during the first week.

After that, they have the option to screen the movie in smaller halls if they can show proof that the movie is not drawing in the crowd.

However, after the two weeks, cinema operators can opt not to screen the movie, even if there is demand from moviegoers. This has occurred a few times in the past to movies like Pontianak Harum Sundal Malam, Geng Pengembaraan Bermula and the most recent, Senario The Movie 2 Beach Boys.

Cinema operators prefer to screeen Hollywood movies.

Last Thursday, a new local movie, Dua Jiwa Satu Hati, opened and occupied the bigger cinema halls, thus Adnan Sempit had to move to smaller halls.

Since it is compulsory for cinema operators to screen Dua Jiwa Satu Hati for two weeks, they might have to pull out Adnan Sempit to make way for new Hollywood and Chinese movies.

KL shares to continue correction mode

Malaysian shares are expected to continue to be in the correction mode, especially with investors seeking a safe haven in the US dollar following weak European equities.

An analyst said the market had been drifting to form its base and would likely carry on the trend and trade around the current range.

For the week just ended, the benchmark FBM Kuala Lumpur Composite Index shed 41.29 points to 1,259.16 from last week's 1,300.45.

"There appears to be a flight to safe haven because the European market is becoming uncertain and this may affect the market. I see the dollar strengthening more," the analyst said.

He said that with 1,248 being a strong support level, the market just drifted on Friday to form a base. "It will continue to drift in the coming weeks, but prices will not crash," he added. He put the lower resistance at 1,255.

This week, in line with regional bourses, the local market saw a down trend with heavyweights, especially banking counters, taking a beating.

This was due to China's monetary policy tightening coupled with the proposal by the Obama administration to limit risk-taking by banks in the United States.

Locally, Bank Negara Malaysia kept the overnight policy rate at two per cent but hints of a possible review to avoid financial imbalances, had affected the banking stocks heavily.

There is speculation that interest rates will increase in the second quarter, causing costs to go up and affecting borrowing.

This week, the Finance Index dipped 336.7 points to 11,078.79 from 11,415.49, the Plantation Index fell 251.59 points to 6,188.13 from 6,439.72 and the Industrial Index was 114.86 points lower at 2,586.04 from 2,700.9.

The FBM Emas Index dropped 266.0 points to 8,484.0, the FBM Top 100 Index decreased 261.54 points to 8,249.32 and FBM ACE Index declined 113.38 points to 4,381.83.

Total turnover slipped to 5.23 billion shares worth RM7.66 billion from 5.927 billion shares worth RM7.437 billion a week earlier.

Volume on the main market dropped to 4.14 billion units valued at RM7.5 billion from last week''s 4.838 billion units valued at RM7.188 billion.

Call warrants went down to 193.12 million units worth RM37.04 million from 284.809 million units worth RM55.089 million.

The ACE Market volume fell to 558.8 million units valued at RM93.18 million from 748.839 million units valued at RM165.66 million. – BERNAMA

Note: Still a bad news.

Ringgit may break 3.38 resistance level

The ringgit is expected to rise against US dollar next week with Asian currencies lending support on positive economic signs in the region, dealers said.

"The ringgit will be well supported at the 3.40 level next week," said one of the dealers, who added that the ringgit may break the resistance level of 3.38 next week.

However, the dealer said that the fundamentals were still weak in the absence of strong leads.

"Any unfavourable news in the United States will downgrade the greenback's value in overseas markets, hence the ringgit is likely to ride on this weakness," he said.

Another dealer said the US Commerce Department will release its fourth-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) data on Friday and negative numbers will encourage investors to take positions on the US dollar.

He did not rule out the possibility of strong buying of US dollars if the data comes in much weaker than expected as most investors preferred to keep the greenback as a "safe haven" during economic crisis.

The local market will be closed on Monday for the Federal Territory Day public holiday.

On a week-to-week basis, the ringgit depreciated against the US dollar to 3.4060/4110 from 3.3940/3990 recorded last Friday.

The local currency declined against the Singapore dollar at 2.4256/4319 from 2.4203/4260 last Friday and was also weaker against the Japanese yen at 3.7748/7820 from 3.7586/7658 previously.

The ringgit, however, strengthened against the euro at 4.7602/7679 from 4.7978/8055 last Friday and also against the British pound at 5.5078/5173 from 5.5183/5281 previously. – BERNAMA

The Malaysian growth was not accidental. It was a result of the policies of the Government and the management of the economy and finances. National savings at 40% plus was the highest in the world and the reserves could sustain 4½ months of retained imports. The Ringgit was strong and steady - being valued at about... 2.5 to 1 USD for most of the time. - Tun Mahathir -

Happy Thaipusam

image

“It’s Thaipusam tomorrow mom. Hopefully we won’t be late to work” I said.

“Hopefully…” mom replied, anxious.

When we reached town, we could see the bad traffic. Bad traffic jam!

“Jeez! Mom, do you think we can make it?” half scream.

“Believe in yourself Abang” a short reply, still looking at the cars around us.

I managed to send mom to the office about 8:15am (our office hour is from 8:30am-5:30pm). She smiled.

“Drive safely, son”.

I drove carefully but fast to the office, used the usual route. Sadly, when I turn to Kapitan’s road; it was not only jam, but blocked by traffic police men. The whole road was full of the MPPP’s lorries (those lorries that collect garbage at your house) which for sure to clear all the coconuts on the road later.

I got stuck there about 15 minutes and I reached my parking at 8:30am. To save the time, I ran to office from parking and reached office 8:32 sharp. Damn!

Anyway,

I want to wish Happy Thaipusam to all my Indian readers, bloggers and friends.

Camera: Compact or DSLR?

image

I have difficulty, curiosity about what camera to buy.

Compact or DSLR?

I like taking pictures, but when I think about the size, I think compact is handy.

Then, I look at pictures uploaded by some friends and bloggers. I think DSLR suits me.

Starting this year, I’m going to start my journey of life. Meaning, I’m going to enjoy myself, have fun, experience new things at other people’s countries. At least, other people’s state. So, it’s good to grab this opportunity, to snap some good pictures for my memories.

I still have some gloss papers which I got them when I bought my 3-in-1 printer, which include printing, scanning and photocopying function. I had used all the functions but I haven’t tried photo printing on glossy paper, yet.

Just now, I’ve discussed with some of my colleagues and they advised me to buy DSLR, instead.

The next question is about which brand to buy?

Some bloggers suggested Nikon. Colleagues suggested Canon.

I got this link from colleague (Firdaus).

imageimage

I know some of you might have knowledge about it. Can you give me some suggestion and advise?

Why people put their hand out of the window while driving?

image

Do you realize that some people always put their hand out of the window while driving? Doesn’t matter whether they’re smoking or simply do nothing, but showing off their fat big hand.

Do they think it’s cool?

Or, sexy?

Whenever I see that, I always wish any vehicle will hit the hand. But then, it’s too late for a lesson?

… and do you realize that most people who do this, are lazy and always drive as slow as possible on the fast lane? (the most right lane). I call them self-centered.

I simply hate them!

So, why we must kill our own species?

image

I got a sms while I was waiting for my turn. As usual, I was at badminton.

“Hey, can we meet for a discussion tomorrow at 6pm?” Linda said.

“Can’t make it in weekdays honey. Weekend is always available.” I replied.

Suddenly, I didn’t focus on the game. Not to the sms either. My eyes were still on the cell phone, but my mind flied.

“Fang, do you know that she hates you? She even wanted to kick you out of the group once.” a question, more likely a confession.

I was shock. My eyes didn’t blink. The question from Felicia really stung my heart. Badly.

I asked almost immediately “Why, Felicia?”.

“You depend on her too much. Asking her a lot of questions, and not independent at all.” more words that could break any heart into pieces.

“She must understand that I’m not from the same office like her, I’m an outsider Felicia!”

“I know that, but…” she sighed.

“Just ignore her, Fang. Will you?”

“Yeah, it’s nothing actually. No hard feeling at all. If I know she is like that, I won’t join the group at first place” I replied with regret.

“Ah! Come one! I never met any hardworking guy like you. You still have us. She is nothing and in fact, we don’t fancy her much.” she persuaded.

“Oy! What are you dreaming about!” Lan shouted at me.

Oh, it was my turn. I smiled.

I know that human is hard to predict. Some, can act good in front of you but stab you with a knife behind your back.

We are human after all. So, why we must kill our own species?

Start from that moment, I didn’t sms her or share any info with her anymore. Just one wish, I want to beat her in exam! That’s my promise.

Nothing much to do today…

Oh ok. I woke up around 11am. Man! I know, every Saturday and Sunday I feel so lazy. Working like crazy 5 days a week give me great impact, I suppose.

Then, I got sms from mom, reminded me about meeting with Ah Seng (quite confusing as he addressed himself as Leong but no one knows any Leong there but Ah Seng!). Shit! When thinking about this, I become stressful. Money again, of course. Yesterday, paid for house car park RM750. 10% and 5% from the whole amount RM5k.

So, I met him around 1pm. My car was jacked higher than me, to show me all the leaking :( Here and there. Including timing belt and absorbers. Jeez!

He told me the cost should be around RM1k+ roughly. I just nod. He also said, the repair needs about 3-4 days. I nodded again.

Then, I went to town for lunch with Keith. Ok, I know you readers, love to see food pictures. Don’t you?

240120104533 Starter: Papedom with curry.

240120104534 Apple juice for me and Air Asam for Keith.

240120104535Deep fried squid.

240120104536 Steamed egg.

240120104537Mantis prawn.

240120104538 Stingray curry.

Overall, the foods were so, so. We both agreed.

Then, went home and nothing much to do. Just watched TV until 9pm and read book for a while.

Around 12, I was hungry again. What to cook, fast and simple? I bought Cintan Mee Goreng Indonesia (my favorite :P) last week. So, I boiled the water and put the noodle inside. Put the noodle only in my plate with the flavors. Drank my chocolate milk. Burp~

Now, I’m here writing something for you to read.

Off to bed! Nitey nite honey.

Food, is back again.

Haha. It has been a while since I blog about foods, right? Do you miss it? Ok, let me try this and see the response. Or maybe I should just upload in Facebook since people there like it so much. True? :P

Today (I might post this later than the exact date as I got so many post in draft :P) 23/1/2010 I went out for window shopping and of course eat-all-I-can session.

After sent my car to the workshop at 7.30pm (I slept the whole day, it has been so long… since I became pig, last :P), I left my car there and Keith picked me up. We went to QueensBay Mall for window shopping and dinner. That’s the original plan ;)

First, dinner of course, as I didn’t eat anything the whole day. Just simple lunch that mom cooked.

Here, we go…

230120104519 Orange Tangy (right spelling eh?)

230120104520 Hungry eh?

230120104523 Chicken Sang.

230120104524 Breast, Mediterranean rice and corn.

230120104525Drumstick, old chip and potato salad.

230120104526 Burp~

Then, we did window shopping at Topman, GAP, Seed and Padini. There was no Chinese New Year sale, yet. So, we went to Borders. I couldn’t find Maximum Ride sequence :( Saw the 1st book but not like the one I got, hard cover. They only sell the paperback which not my cup of tea. Anymore? LOL. Also, I found Wizard and Witch by Patterson too, still the same, not hard cover. Damn. Oh ya, I saw someone with someone there. Hmm, I better mind my own biz though.

Around 10pm, we went to Coffee Bean. Keith craving for the coffee LOL. It was pretty crowded. We ordered these:

230120104527Can’t remember its long name, whatever choc cheese cake.

230120104528 Ice blended Black Forest.

230120104529My favorite latte.

Burp~

I was full. I mean, very full! Full of cream. Now, it sounds like Dutch Lady full cream LOL.

Great day, I’d say. Until my foreman told me that my car would take 3-4 days for repair and service. As many major problem occur.

3-4 days? Jeez! Almost same problem with dad’s car I guess, which cost him about RM3k!

Crossed fingers.

Angelina Jolie betrayed Brad Pitt?

image

For Angelina Jolie, a new week means a new affair rumour. This time though, tabloid magazine InTouch reportedly interviewed an ex-employee of the Waldorf-Astoria in New York – a hotel Brad and Angie have stayed many times over the past three or four years. Anna Kowalski, a former maid at the hotel, claimed that she witnessed Angie having long visits from a “tall, dark-haired man — who was one of her dialect coaches from (her movie) Salt.” This is getting interesting

According to Ms. Anna, who has worked for Brangelina on their numerous visits, Angie has been having an affair with the man over the summer, when Angie was staying alone at the hotel while shooting her movie Salt.

“She would see the tutor while a bodyguard stood entrance at the suite,” said Anna. Anna also added that, after one late-night meeting with the tutor in mid-July, Anna personally saw what looked like evidence of a night of passion, and she claimed that it was the reason why she was fired in December – for not getting out of the room fast enough.

“The room was a disaster,” she explained. “There was water all over the bathroom and empty vodka bottles everywhere. Every towel had been used. And over five dozen cattleya orchids were scattered around the room, and there were the tops of the flowers in the tub, with candles.

“The bed was covered with black rubber sheets, and there were sex toys on it,” she added.

Breaking Dawn

image

Oh yeah!

This is the ending. I mean, official ending even though Midnight Sun has been spread around. I haven’t read that piece. A chapter.

I heard, because of the leaking, she chose not to continue.

Meyer, be reasonable. You know how many copies of your books have been sold. So, don’t make it complicated honey. Just do it! (Alright, now I make it sounds like a Nike ads).

This 756 pages, thick, book has 3 chapters in it. Divided into 3 which are stories about Bella, Jacob and back to Bella. If you read Eclipse, you’ll understand that these two books aren’t like the first and second book which focus on Bella only.

Nephew called me snail. For taking ages, to finish this book.

Who cares? Look, how many people at my age, read thick book like this? Now, I’m proud of myself.

The story began with Bella marriage from Eclipse, and their honeymoon at an island named Isle of Esme. A wedding gift from Carlisle to Esme. There, a lot of thing happen. Like, Edward unintentionally gave bruises on Bella. But he was pretty strong that nothing worse than that happen to his lovely wife. Bella appetite increased day by day, and they notice after few days it went on that way. This part was boring. Seriously. Until they realized that Bella was pregnant! I was quite shock with few facts like, is it possible a vampire can get erect since he has no blood? That was what I think when reading and watching Twilight and New Moon. But in this book, I know why he always resist. Also, how could Bella carried a vampire’s child? After all, it’s fiction aye?

Second chapter, it was about Jacob. Who was still running away from the fact that Bella is going to be a bloodsucker soon. Or sooner than he expected. He was still wish that he would kill Edward at the wedding. Then, he returned home. There was a gathering between the pack. A meeting, to be exact. Jacob had been informed by the pack that Bella was very ill, and nothing else in his mind was Bella’s blood was suck off, too much. He was mad, and plan to kill the Cullen as soon as possible. His decision was declined by the pack, a decision from the Alpha – Sam. He wasn’t listen and still go straight to Cullen’s mansion to kill them all, at least kills Edward. When he reached there, he was shock that Bella was still alive, and fighting to survive. Not because of her, but because of the baby. Weird baby. The baby was killing her from inside, as the baby was half human and half vampire, she (Oh! ya it was a female weird hybrid). She drank blood! Jacob cancelled the plan and instead of thinking about killing them, he turned to be helpful. Then, he went back to tell the pack about what exactly happen. It was not a good news of course. But for Sam, it was a worst news ever. He decided to kill the child. Even though they have to go through Bella and the Cullen. It didn’t matter. Jacob, was against them again this time. On Bella’s side, of course. There, they started to argue. Jacob claimed his right as an Alpha which actually suppose to be his position, a leader, an Alpha. Sam didn’t want that, which lead to a decision, abandoned the pack. Not Sam, but Jacob. Jacob went straight to the Cullen’s mansion but not long, Seth and Leah joined him. The story went on until Bella gave birth. Bella almost die, when she delivered the baby which forced Edward to use the last resort, gave her his venom. I like this part as shape-shifter (hey, the pack are not werewolf but shape-shifter like some other places they might turn into a hawk or tiger, as werewolf can infect others like vampire and they turn into one on full moon), Jacob’s pack were close with the Cullen.

Back to Bella, she still in pain. Burned with venom that had been injected to her heart by Edward. After hours, she managed to open her eyes, and realized that she was already one of them. She got great skills like to avoid human blood smell, even though it was impossible for newborn vampire. Never happen before. Then, instead of that she was also a shield to all mind skills, including his lovely husband’s skill. The skill she got since she was a human. The baby, was named Renesmee. Jacob changed it to Nessie, which the baby liked it, together with the whole family. Bella was mad at first, but then more mad when she realized Nessie was imprinted for Jacob! Edward took Bella out for hunting. She started to adopt vampire ability, but she learned them fast. Not long from the heart thumping moment, Jacob made a surprise. He told Charlie that Bella was fine and can be visited. Another surprise was, Jacob phase in front of Charlie! Bella was mad and attacked Jacob but he was fast and accidentally bumped at Seth. He got some cracks and disjoints. Charlie visited Bella at the Cullen’s mansion. He was still in shock with Jacob confession. Few weeks after that, Bella, Jacob and Nessie were out in the jungle, hunting some animals. Bella was shock to see Irina, part of Cullen’s family lead by Tanya who live in Denali. She was still mad at Bella with the Laurent’s death. Then she just disappeared. Everybody was so shock when Alice told them that the Volturi will come for them, for Renesmee.

Oh, to know the ending, you must read this book. I don’t want to be a total brat, spoil everything or even spoon feeding lazy ass like er, you?

It’s a worth buy and time to spend. Seriously.

P/s: Nadia, I think I’m going to be like you confuse about how is Eclipse’s ending when we watch the movie June this year. It happen to you with New Moon, which gave me a great laugh.

Are you really, a needy?

image

Hey, people.

What do you think about those who called themselves beggar? Are they a true beggar, I mean a needy? Or they just plain lazy. Do not want to work, but earn with people’s money.

Dignity? Nada.

People’s perspective? Do not care.

Job? No education as an excuse as everybody has Diploma and Degree.

For me, they are lazy. Since, they are complete.

Why I write about this? Just now, someone, a stranger came into my office. No one around, so I had to attend him (Damn, did he knows 1-2pm is lunch break?).

Encik, boleh bagi saya RM5. Saya ada masalah kewangan” he said.

Pergi tingkat lain, ok?” I replied.

Tolong lah encik…” more craps from him.

Saya tiada duit, sorry” a weird smile, I gave him. Crooked one.

So, guys… what do you think?

Slumdog Millionaire

image

Ah! I know, it’s and old movie. You can call me outdated. I don’t mind, but honestly, it’s a very good movie. Indeed.

I watched it last night. Late night. Around 11.30pm, and you don’t have to wonder why I have panda eyes and keep yawning every 5 minutes.

The storyline is perfect and the scene is smooth from each one to another. Genius!

Started with the investigation with accusation from the host, that the guy, Jamal lied in a reality show “Who wants to be a millionaire”.

The flashback was very nice; starting with the poor life two young boys named Jamal and Salim. The scene shows us how poor India is, and lack of proper education.

It was a heart breaking, when I watched the fighting between Islam and Hindu (that is why I hate when we start to touch religion and race issue in Malaysia, believe it or not, if it doesn’t cure, it will surely bring chaos). One of the Hindu rebellions, hit the mum on the head with a long metal. Jamal’s mum died, instantly (I was like “Oh my God!”). She managed to see them coming and screamed quickly, for Jamal and Salim to run and safe their own life few seconds before she got hit. Oh, they were playing in the water that all women use for cleaning the clothes.

With a great heart thumping moment, they ran as quick as they could to save their life (Oh ya! They ran once before, chased by the airport guard because they were playing at the airport runaway).

They managed to find a place to hide. There, they met a girl named Latika.

The next day, a guy helped them. He brought them to a place looks like an orphan kids hostel. They even thought the guy was a saint. I could guess that, the bright smile on their face won’t last as I know how they sell kids in India and Thailand. Even we have few syndicate in Malaysia!

They took out kid’s eyes with hot spoon right after they used sedative on them. Only those who could sing good. So that they can earn more. Poor thing to watch though!

The Three Musketeers managed to escape, Salim, Jamal and Latika. But when they ran into a train, Latika couldn’t grab Salim’s hand (I assumed that Salim purposely did it) and left behind into the bad guys hand.

Salim and Jamal started to live in the train. Bad way. Stealing food and belonging, even selling them.

Age grew, and they found Taj Mahal. Same way with living in the train, they steal and be a tourist guide there. They made a lot of money.

Until one day, Jamal decided to go back to their hometown, to find Latika. His soul. Salim did not agree at first, but then defeated with Jamal’s decision.

They went there, and found Latika at the prostitute area. She was a dancer. They were happy but not for long. The bad guys came. It was a shocking moment, when Salim got a gun and shot the bad guys leader.

The story went on with Jamal works at the phone company, Salim with gangster and Latika lives with Salim’s leader.

Jamal wanted to save Latika, anyway. So, he decided to join a reality program “Who wants to be a millionaire”.

Back to the beginning.

Salim helped Latika to run away from the gang and he killed the leader, but of course got killed by the gang too.

Latika met Salim at the train station and they happy life begins.

Seriously, I seldom write the whole story like this, rather than copy it from Wikipedia.

If you haven’t watched, don’t wait. Ok?

By the way, I got this DVD from a sweet blogger: Jard The Great.

Thanks dear Jard.

Jeez! Ron, is that real?

Source: Naked Ron

Last week we were thrilled to get in shots of Megan Fox modeling for Armani. This week the kind people at Club 21 Malaysia sent over images from their menswear campaign, with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Shot by the same photographers, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, these images will be seen on billboards and in magazines, starting from February, around the world in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, Rome, Paris and Tokyo.

We have our doubts over the hotness of Armani's new celeb model though. Our sports team covers many a match with pretty boy Ronny and all of us at the office have commented on the fact that Ronaldo...has never been that buff.

Still, while we're sure the luscious Fox was probably airbrushed too, there's no reason we can't all take a bite of a fantasy. You have to admire what has become a skillful art: The use of half-naked people to sell clothes.

Enjoy!

Jeez! Is that real? Can you give me an explanation in case you read this? ;)

Save The Best For Last

Another song from her ;)

Colors of the Wind

I love this song. A lot.

Do you know that she was the first African American to be crowned as Miss America in 1984?

She is pretty and very talented I’d say.

Nuffnang?

I don’t understand how it works, really. My friends told me that he click the ads few times. But when I see the “Earning” in their website, I gain nothing but RM0.00.

Anyone can explain how it works and why I didn’t get any cent?

Is age that important?

Is age that important?

This is a common question. I know.

Some, might say it is, and some might disagree.

Whatever it is, it’s individual perspective. I’d say age is just a number. You don’t agree? :)

It’s normal when you have gone through few phase, yet you are still left unsatisfied. I mean, do you think human being is ever satisfied? Perfectionist, almost all human. Just that, maybe they prefer to protest rather than to agree :)

When you were young, you always pray to God; pray that you will be an adult tomorrow. But when you realized it was impossible, it was enough just to wish it will be faster than the fact.

When you were an adult, you always want to turn back time. Stay young, so that there’s no wrinkles. Stay young, so that you won’t be exhausted with works and problems. Working seems to be stressful, and how wonderful if you can simply quit.

But time flies.

When you realize, you already have grey hair, or maybe bald. You are flabby, full of wrinkles and full of fats. I mean bad fat. Yet, you are still here, not satisfied.

Friend,

Age is just a number. You won’t have time to care much about your age if you have wealth and wisdom.

So, what are you waiting for? Do what you like, something that can make you happy. Something that you like to do, at the same time, you earn money.

All the best ya!

Entri Percubaan

Hey, old man.

This morning, when I reached office; my friend were talking about a very sad incident.

A dad. A son.

I read about it on the front page of one of the local newspapers.

“Ayah Pengacau”

Just the title.

Still confuse, I asked them what was that about?

“It’s a very sad story!” said Zakaria.

I went on read more about it, and yes, it was a sad story, indeed.

“It’s a reply to yesterday’s newspaper” said Zana.

She told me the whole story. (Read: here & here).

Have you read them?

How could a son did that to his father? His own-blood-father?

In Islam, a son who is married, the priority is his parent. Unlike, a daughter, which the priority is to the husband.

Otherwise, parent is always parent. Our parent.

What’s the different between human and animal? Yes, you’re definitely right, a GOOD BRAIN not a MALFUNCTION BRAIN.

To the son, sorry to say:

“You are son of a bitch!”

Not your father’s or your mother’s.

Bangkok Love Story

image

Last night, I had watched this movie. Bangkok Love Story was screened at the 34th Brussels International Independent Film Festival, where it won the top prize, the Grand Award in all Categories.

Don’t be judgmental if you hate gays.

I won’t waste my time writing again the plot if I can get it easily on Wikipedia. It kills time that I can use to do other things.

Here the plot (source: Wikipedia):

A loner gunman named Maek is assigned to kidnap a police informant named Iht, but Maek has a change of heart when he takes Iht to the 'hit house'. Maek is ordered to kill Iht, but because he only kills scum and has discovered that Iht isn't bad, he refuses, turning the gun on the enforcers who had hired him to murder Iht. A gun battle ensues during which Maek is wounded, but Iht grabs Maek's gun and shoots their way out of the mobsters' headquarters. The two men then escape on Maek's motorcycle. Maek tells Iht to leave at gun point but he won't and takes Maek back to his rooftop hide-out. There, over a period of time, Iht tends to Maek's wound and finds himself attracted to him.

In fact, Maek is also attracted to Iht, but keeps it hidden, while Iht cares for his former would-be killer with great tenderness.

While giving Maek a bath one day, Iht kisses him on the mouth. Maek reciprocates and the two men engage in a passionate sexual experience. The next day, however, a conflicted Maek demands that Iht go away and leave him alone. Iht returns home to his fiancee, Sai, but is no longer interested in continuing a relationship with her. Iht spends his days pining over Maek, and tracks down Maek's brother, Mhok, and their mother. Mhok is HIV positive, as the result of sexual abuse by his and Maek's stepfather, and their mother is dying of AIDS.

Maek remains elusive, hiding from Iht when he visits the hideout, but leaving signs that he's there so Iht will return.

Though Maek avoids making contact with Iht, eventually he goes to visit his mother and brother, and Iht corners him at the entrance to the building, declaring his love for Maek and stressing how much he misses him. They kiss passionately. They are unfortunately covertly observed by Sai, Iht's live-in fiancee.

Maek's dream is to take his mother and brother away from Bangkok to the mountains of Mae Hong Son Province. But after Maek's mother overhears that Mhok has prostituted himself to survive after contracting AIDS from his stepfather, she commits suicide by hanging herself. The brothers take her down, and as they are rushing her from the apartment, she is killed by a gunshot fired by an unseen sniper. The bullet is presumably intended for Maek.

Maek's former mobster employers are gunning for him and Iht. Maek decides to hunt them down first, and he succeeds in killing them. After Mohk informs Iht what Maek is doing, Iht goes to the capo's house to try and stop Maek, but he is too late and misses Maek by a second. Iht is injured when the capo's wife shoots at a clock that shatters in Iht's face.

Maek, meanwhile meets his brother at the railway station to leave Bangkok for good. But before he can board the train, he is apprehended by the police and taken away. Mhok breaks down. He's the sole witness to his brother being apprehended.

Years pass by. Iht visits Maek in prison and reveals that he was left blind in the final gunbattle with Maek's ex-boss. Mhok commits suicide while at a Hospice of Watphrabahtnamphu in Lopburi because he no longer has the energy to fight his disease. Eventually, Maek is released from prison, and Iht meets him. But before the two men can leave to start their life together, Maek is shot dead by a single bullet fired by an unseen assassin. A bewildered, blind Iht collapses over his lover's corpse, swearing his love for him again and again.

Iht eventually regains his sight, and is finally able to view on his mobile phone a video recorded by Maek himself many years before, admitting that all along, he had loved Iht and that he would love him to his last breath.

End plot.

The ending is very touching. You’d cry if you’re sensitive type of person. I won’t deny, that I, too, cried last night.

The quote I like the most:

“Love doesn't need a reason”

Question: Do you have a reason for loving your love one?

How to contact Streamyx when your landline telephone can’t be used?

I don’t know about this until I faced a problem with internet here at my friend’s house.

We couldn’t connect to the internet, then he ran to grab the landline telephone to call TMnet/Streamyx. Sadly, his telephone couldn’t call out, not even a dial tone.

Now, we’re stuck.

We can’t call out using landline telephone and we can’t call telephone and internet provider with our cell phone.

I called my mom with my cell phone earlier on for helping me to get provider number from the operator. She said the operator told her that we can’t call TMnet or Streamyx with a cell phone. Only with a landline telephone.

How could that possible? I mean, we are a developing country. So goes with the technology, but what the hell with “you can only contact them with landline telephone”?

Don’t you think the company’s superiors never think of a solution to solve this?

Instead of press 100 for landline telephone, they should have a number or two for helpline. Is it so much burden if people call from a cell phone? Or are they worry that people won’t subscribe their stupid line and internet because we’re using cell phone to call them? If they really think so, that’s so lame.

No wonder, more and more friends of mine cut their idiotic internet provider and subscribe 3G Broadband from Maxis, Celcom and Digi or P1Wimax which is the latest, even though they’re not as fast as the idiotic one.

I really hope someday soon, we will have another Broadband company that will provide better service than Streamyx. Trust me, more people will change to the new one.

It’s understood that when they have no good competitor, they tend to be lack of good service and less concern to their loyal customer.

Right now, I can only keep my fingers crossed and pray to God that they will be defeated soon. Amin.

Quiz in Facebook

I did a quiz just now in Facebook, and I got this one as the result.

I watched this again last night. Erm, I’m not sure how many time I’ve watched this, but it never get me bored. Never.

Someone watched it, seriously. Kept laughing and smiling, even crying. That is how I define serious.

I could repeat some conversations in this movie over and over again. It’s like I watch this movie everyday. I like Yasmin’s movies so much, but sadly, she is gone. How I miss her badly.

Well, to those who already know the storyline, just ignore this post ok? Do you know, some people do not have time to watch it till today. Yes, I was as shock as you when I heard someone said to me “I haven’t watched this movie yet, can we watch together?”. I could only reply “Jeez, you kidding me aye?”

Here the plot (source: Wikipedia):

19-year old Ah Loong (who also called himself "Jason") is in charge of a stall selling pirated VCDs. Contrary to the stereotype of his social standing, Ah Loong is an incurable romantic with an unlikely hobby: He loves to read and write poetry. Quite content to carry on being the Romeo of the slums, Ah Loong's life takes a sudden turn one day when a Malay schoolgirl, Orked, arrives at his stall. She is in search of films starring her favorite actor Takeshi Kaneshiro. Love blossoms between Orked and Ah Loong, although there are social and racial pressures that stand in their way.

In the end, Ah Loong is involved in a motor vehicle accident while Orked is going to England to pursue her studies. It is not clear if he lived or died until the sequel, Gubra which shows that Jason really did die. After the credits finish rolling however, Orked is shown wearing a wedding ring sleeping beside Jason, who also has a wedding ring. In Mukhsin, Jason and the adult Orked are shown to be living together. However, the adult Orked is not called by her name in this scene as the young Orked is.

Plot end.

I was curious and confuse too about its’ ending. If he has died, who answered the call? Here is the script I found in Yasmin’s blog. Click here.

I’ve watched Gubra and Mukhsin. Seriously, I couldn’t tell that all of ‘em are connected.

imageI miss her.
